Chairman's Invitation

It gives me great pleasure to invite you to the 33rd Meeting of the European Strabismological Association, to be held from October 4-7, 2009 in Belgrade.

This well-respected and long-established meeting will be a valuable opportunity for ophthalmologists, orthoptists and visual scientists from all over Europe and many countries around the world to discuss the last novelties in our field, in a stimulating atmosphere.

The meeting has never been held in Serbia and the region before, so this is an historic occasion. Belgrade, with its long history and culture, is an extremely attractive and easily accessible location that provides the ideal forum for scientific exchange across borders of Western and Eastern European countries.

A great deal of thought went into formulating not only a stimulating scientific program, but also the preparation of a most enjoyable social program, which will give participants the opportunity to experience Serbian culture and its wonderful scenery.

The participation of colleagues from all continents with renowned experts in the field of strabismus guaranties the success of this meeting.
